An engineering example of treating the urban domestic sewage by A/O process is introduced. The result shows that this process has the characteristics such as less land occupied, convenient to operate and manage, and the effluent can be used for landscape, greenbelt and car-washing, etc. The project is considered cost effective and benefit to society and environment. The removal rate of CODcr is 78% and the removal rate of BOD5 is 92%. Therefore, it is a more ideal process to treat the urban sewage.
