People, the State, and Fear: Barry Buzan and His Contribution to IR Theory

摘要作者集中探讨了巴瑞·布赞关于国际关系理论的第一部重要著作———《人民、国家与恐惧》,这是布赞国际关系理论方面的核心著作。布赞运用层次分析和领域分析的方法,提出了“地区复合安全”的概念。除了安全研究外,该书还勾勒出了布赞的整体研究的框架———地区复合安全理论、世界历史中的国际体系理论以及对英国学派的研究。作者认为,布赞在概念和方法论上采取的多元主义指明了国际关系领域发展的方向,为国际关系理论的发展做出了贡献。 In this article, the author reviews the first major book by Barry Buzan on IR theory, People, States and Fear, which is also his key work on IR theory. In this book, Buzan advances the concept of “regional security complex” based hierarchical and sectoral analysis. The author sketches Buzan’s entire research agenda - the regional security complex theory and international systems in world history as well as his study of the English school. The author argues that by adopting pluralism in the conceptions and methodologies, Buzan suggests the future of direction of IR development and makes a contribution to IR theory.
