The development trend of the earth rockfill dam security monitoring system is investigated and the development principia of the earth rockfill dam security monitoring software system are given. After designing a new kind of software structure--＂bus structure＂ and discussing some critical technology in this system, an earth rockfill dam security monitoring system with ＂bus structure＂ is developed and applied to engineering. A conclusion drawn from the application results shows that the practicability and high-performance of the ＂bus structure＂ software system indicates the evolution trend of the earth rockfill dam security monitoring system.
