Channel wave seismic detection technique is an ideal method for detecting minor structures in heading stope. The paper discusses in detail basic characteristics of channel wave and their main causes in the Datong Jurassic coalfield. It also inquires into the limit and prospect of channel wave application in the Datong mining area, and introduces the working method .
