This article has introduced four original and unpublished letters from Liu Yong, Zhou Yongnian, Wu Dazheng and Ye Changchi. The letter from Liu yong to Liu Zun serves as a firsthand material to understand the examination system of Qing dynasty; the letter form Zhou Yongnian to Li Xiangao is one of the known surviving five letters; the letter from Wu Dazheng to Qishichang contributes much to the understanding of very situation of the school of Qing; the letter from Ye Changchi to Liu yongshi provides a detailed account of the Eight-power Allied Forces＇ invasion and the Boxer Movement in Beijing.
