As an organic part of a nation's traditional culture, the norm of family ethics affects one's behavior in a most direct and concrete way. Japan is a country deeply influenced by Confucianist culture, yet only assimilates politic ethics selectively in accordance with its governing, whereas in aspect of moral ethics, it deviates from or even repulses Confucianism extensively. As a result, Japanese hold a rather open attitude towards family relation and moral life, which helps itself cope with the challenge of modernization in an easy and active position without much resistance.
