How China interacts with US in terms of energy security?

Erica S. Downs, an energy expert from the Brookings Institution in America was interviewed by China Petroleum Enterprise, during which she commented on both China and the United States' energy security. She worked in Rand Corporation before and published her research report China's Quest for Energy Security there. She is still an expert in energy now. Energy security is the common concern for both the United States and China. As both big energy producing countries and consuming ones, they have common interest as well as competition. As far as Erica is concerned, if China and the United States interact harmoniously concerning energy security, it will exert positive influence on the world energy-geopolitics.
