20世纪90年代以来五四东西文化论战研究述评

A review of the study on the East-West Cultural Debate during the May 4th Movement since 1990s

五四东西文化论战是中国思想史上的一件影响非常深远的大事。20世纪90年代以来,学术界从论战发生的背景、论战的概况以及对论战的评价等方面作了较全面的研究,取得了很大的成绩。但是也还存在一些不足:一是研究中还存在着非历史主义的倾向,二是系统性不够,三是研究方法有待进一步完善。

The East-West Cultural Debate during the May 4th Movement is a influential event in the history of Chinese thinking. Researchers have made comprehensive study about it regarding its background, the debate itself and evaluation on it since the 1900s. In spite of the achievements made, there are still inadequacies in the recent study of it, which include the trend of non-historical materialism, shortage of systematicity and imperfectness of research method.
