摘要 Ientered the MA program partly with the expectation of improving ~my employment prospects, but after two years of studies the situation seems to have grown from bad to worse, especially for those of us studying liberal arts and social sciences. Expanded school enrolment may be one factor. In 2003 our MA program had enrolled about 40 students, but in 2004, the year I joined the program, the number soared to I20. The three other girls who shared the same dorm as me are all still looking for jobs, one in Shenzhen and two in Beijing. I am in Shanghai since my boyfriend is working there and because there are more opportunities for further development.
