With the eoming of the new century, strengthening the ability-oriented education has become the most important mission of higher education. As the basement of information accumulation and communication, the library plays an improtant role in the ability-oriented education. The paper discusses the roles of library in ability-oriented education, and puts forward some suggestions to use the resources of the library to build the basement of ability oriented education in the university.
