汉英诗歌翻译中的意境转换

ON IMAGERY TRANSFER IN THE TRANSLATION OF CHINESE POETRY INTO ENGLISH

汉语诗歌,尤其是古典的格律诗体,是非常重视意境营造的,这一点与西方诗歌体裁的文字有着极大的不同。西方社会传统的理性思维方式,使得西方人就是写作优美诗句的时候,其方法也是思辨的,致力于生命哲理的苦苦寻求。这就使得翻译工作者在从事汉英诗歌翻译工作时,汉语诗歌中的意境转换成为翻译的一个难题。

Chinese poetry, especially classical rhymed poems, focuses greatly on the construction of imagery, which is very different from western poetry. With traditional way of thinking with reasons in westem society, western poets write poems with speculation even when writing beautiful poem lines, committed to the research of life＇s philosophy. It has become a hard task for translators to transfer imagery in Chinese poetry into English.
