构建社会主义和谐社会是新时期党中央提出的一项重要战略任务。少数民族城市化水平低、质量差、区域差异大,内部发展失衡的现状,阻碍着我国改革发展中深层次矛盾的解决,影响着平等、团结、互助、和谐民族关系的发展,制约着民族地区和谐社会的构建。以科学发展观为指导,加快少数民族城市化进程,不仅为构建社会主义和谐社会提供物质基础、社会基础和良好的社会环境,而且体现了社会公平和正义,将大大推进我国构建和谐社会的进程。

To construct a Socialist harmonious society is an important strategy that the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party proposed in the new era. The low level, the poor quality, the big disparity among minority regions and the unbalanced internal developments are the present situations of the Urbanization in minority areas. This issue： has been hindering the resolving of the deep contradictory in reformation, influencing the ethnic relations＇ equality, unity, cooperation and harmonious developments and restricting the construction of Socialist harmonious society in minority areas. Speeding up the urbanization of minority areas under the guidance of scientific developmental view can not only provide material base, society base and good social environment but also can it promote the development to the Socialist harmonious society in our country because it manifests the fair and just.
