摘要
本文通过对英语“head”一词的语义扩展分析,探讨了一词多义发生和发展的过程,验证了语言学家们提出的隐藏在语义扩展现象背后的心理和认知规律,并在此基础上尝试性地探讨该现象对词汇教学的启示。
By analyzing the meaning extension of ' head', the paper studies the processes of the extension of word meaning and the psychological and cognitive factors which lead to this phenomenon. On the basis of this, the paper provides some possible implication for vocabulary teaching.
