An investigation into the cervical secretions and virus infected sera from 146 cases of pregnancy

Investigations were conducted in 146 cases of pregnancy for virus infection by means of tissue culture, neutralization test and enzyme linked immunosorbent assay. Of the 117 cases examined,only 3 strains of enteric virus were found; whereas 87. 1 % of the 114 cases under serum tests for cytomegalovirus gave positive results. T tests for herpes virus (HSV) and Coxsackie virus (CV) showed that only the difference in findings of B1 type of CVwere significant (p<0 .01) compared with the normal population.
