This paper expounds the concept of the sustainable development of the urban traffic, introduces two sustainable development modes for the urban traffic system commonly used in the world currently, the track traffic system and the bus rapid transit （BRT）, and points out some problems needing attention in the course of carrying out the sustainable development system of the urban traffic.
