In different periods of history, Thais came to contact with Chinese food culture and imported Geng, which was shown'by different imported words in Thai. Kaeng^33, a traditional Thai food with heavy taste, originated in ancient times when Baiyue ethnical groups in the Southern Thailand met Chinese from central China and borrowed from the Chinese word Geng. The light taste kaeng^33 was the consequence of spreading of Shen food and soup in central China since Han and Tang Dynasty. The word kao^33 lao^24 was borrowed from Yaorou in Chinese in Han times. Kuai^24tiao^24 were the imported word from Guotiao in Chinese with coming immigrants from Chaozhou and Shantou from China after Song Dynasty.
