The Analysis of the Cultural Element of the Jade Articles in Liao Dynasty

契丹是中国古代北方游牧民族,本无用玉传统,建国后却大量使用玉器。从造型、文饰、功能上分析辽代玉器,可基本概括出其主要汇蓄有中原汉文化、“西方”外来文化、佛教文化、契丹民族文化等因素。分析辽代玉器的文化因素,对研究辽代物质文化、对外交流、民族传统等方面具有积极意义。

Khitan was the northern nomadic people of ancient China. It originally had no tradition to use jade articles. However, with the establishment of the nation, jade was used very much. To analyze the jade articles in Liao dynasty, we can generalize the element of Chinese culture, western foreign culture, Buddhist culture and Khitan culture in them. There is active significance for the study of substantial culture, outside exchanging and national tradition of Liao dynasty in analyzing the cultural element of the jade articles in Liao dynasty.
