“殊途同归”似乎是一个能概括《骆驼祥子》和《米》中两位主人公个人命运历程的绝好的词语。尽管二人当初都来自农村,最后也都在城市的挤压下不得善终。但其间两人所走的道路完全不同,甚至大有背道而驰之势。这两种不同的艺术抉择出于作者在写作立场上不同的创作隐衷。历史视角的不同是二者差别的深层原因。坚守民间立场的老舍,目光总是向外观望,呈现出一种外向的历史视野。而苏童的目光则向内投射,呈现出一种内向的历史视野。
It seems that the phrase-to reach the same destination by different routes-could commendably indicate the destinies of the two leading characters respectively in A Camel of Xiangzi and Rice. Although both of them left the countryside for the cities and the roads they took were entirely different, they did not come into good end under the pressure of the city life. Such different artistic choices were based on different creative positions and original intentions by the writers. Perhaps,different historical angles were the fundamental reason for such diversity. Standing on the viewpoint of the folk, Lao She always looked outwards. Thus he had an extroversive visual field.However,Su Tong' s position was entirely different and he looked inward, and thus, held an introversive visual field.
