Japanese Paralanguage Expressions in Cross-cultural Communication

副语言属于非语言交际范畴,在语言交际过程中也是一种重要的手段。同时,较之语言行为,副语言行为更属于交际文化范畴,更具有民族文化特征。因此,在跨文化交际中,对副语言的理解和把握也具有十分重要的意义。本文拟从跨文化交际的角度探讨日语语言交际中副语言的表现形式及其社会文化特征。

Paralanguage, a non-language communication skill, is a also important means in verbal communication. Meanwhile, compared with other speech act, paralanguage act is closer to cultural communication domain, and it embodies more national cultural characteristics. Therefore, the fully understanding and properly handling paralanguage is significant for cross-cultural communication. This paper attempts to discuss the forms of paralanguage expressions in Japanese context and the cultural characteristics the expressions may convey.
