摘要
本研究调查了两种基本的阅读目的对大学英语学习者的词汇附带习得的影响。通过描述性统计和T检验分析,得出的结果表明:学习者虽能通过阅读习得一定量的词汇,但习得的词汇在数量上因阅读目的、阅读能力的不同而不同。对于这一结果,作者主要从不同阅读目的所引起的语篇信息处理程度上的差异以及不同阅读能力的学习者在实现阅读目的上的差异两个方面进行了分析。
Focusing on two common reading purposes, this study examines how reading a text with these two purposes might affect the incidental vocabulary acquisition of college English learners. Based on the descriptive statistics and T-test, the results indicate that learners can incidentally acquire a certain number of words through reading but the number varies with different reading n, purposes and different reading abilities. Possible causes are speculated from two perspectives: the different levels of text information processing elicited by the different reading purposes and the difference of learners with different reading abilities when the same reading purpose is conducted.
