See the Art Principle of the Technique View from Zhuang Zi to the Technical Dual Attitude

庄子的技术观不是现代意义的机械文明的概念而是基于个体手工劳动的经验诀窍。庄子对机械技术持全盘否定的态度,认为“有机械者必有机事,有机事者必有机心”而且对发明机械的人也持鄙视的态度,“彼赏史、杨、墨、师旷、离朱者皆外应其德而燏乱天下者也”。但是他却肯定接近道的工艺及工艺精神,同时也肯定类艺术的个体劳动者的经验技术。“经验技术”所具备“重内轻外”、“入素复朴”,“体性抱神”、“只可意会”、“无效用性”五大特征。

Unlike the modem concept on mechanical civilization, Zhuang Zi＇s view on technique was based on the experience and know-how of the handwork. Zhuang Zi completely denied mechanical technique, and also despised people inventing machines. But he admitted the spirit of crafts, the experience and technique of personal workers of arts. The five characteristics involved in the experience and technique tend to be artistic. Zhuang ZiPs view on the experience and technique includes the following four aspects： the subject of art, the creation of art, the labeling of art, and the amusement of art.
