Litterfall production and its monthly dynamics of a young Chinese fir plantation at 5 to 7 years old

对福建南平峡阳国有林场1997年营造的杉木幼林凋落物的数量、组成及其季节动态的研究表明,杉木幼林(5-7年生时)向林地输入凋落物共为588.40 kg.hm-2,其中杉木叶占17.54%,枝与皮占4.99%,花与果占1.13%;其他植物凋落物、杂物分别占64.34%和12.01%.杉木的凋落物仅占总凋落量的23.65%.杉木幼林总凋落量年际变化较小,2003年的凋落量是2002年的1.11倍;8月的总凋落量2 a均最大.

Study was carried out to determine the production, component and seasonal dynamics of litterfall in a young Chinese fir plantation which was established in 1997 in Xiayang State Forest Farrm in Nanping, Fujian Province. In 2002 and 2003 （ at the age of 5 to 7 ）, about 588.40 kg·hm^-2 of litter production was returned to the plantation soil, of which 17.54%, 4.99%, and 1.13% were contributed by leaves, branches＋barks, and reproductive parts of Chinese fir, and 64.34% and 12.01% were contributed by other plant litters and miscellaneous, respectively. The litterfall of Chinese fir constituted only 23.65% of all the litterfall. Difference of the total litter production between the 2 years is small. Litter production in year 2003 was 1.11 times higher than that in year 2002. Monthly total litter productions were both highest in August.
