Yin-yang paper cutting is the art of depicting an object or a landscape with scissors. The craftsman first works out the composition of a picture without using any drawing paper and then cuts out the picture at one go without folding the paper. The paper remains flat and neat throughout the whole process of paper cutting. Because of the contrast between the negative and positive pictures and the cutting skills applied to the negative picture, Yin-yang paper-cuts are the only paper-cutting works of art that can not be copied by using sculpting knives.
