19世纪三四十年代,是中国社会发生剧烈变动的年代。尖锐的阶级斗争和反对外国侵略的民族斗争,把一批中国近代早期的思想家推上历史舞台,魏源就是这批思想家中比较著名的一个。魏源思想的形成和他所处的历史年代和社会背景有着极大的联系。

Chinese society changed violently in the thirties and the forties of the nineteenth century. WEI Yuan was one of the famous Chinese early ideologists who walked onto the history stage of sharp conflicts between classes and national struggles against foreign invasion. The formation of WEI Yuang thoughts had great relations with the age and the social background in which he lived.
