By analyzing and explaining the source ,meaing and usage of the word ＂Mound＂ ,this article discussed the cultural relations between the word ＂Mound＂ and Chinese traditional settlement on the face of form origin ,Feng Shui idea,living patterns and symbolic meaning.It proves that the concept Chinese characters expressed has high- level consistency with the objective facts.This is not only the intelligence of ancient,but also the effective method from which we realise the traditional culture of Chinese architecture.
