Applying multi -media technology in the teaching of ＂Mechanical Cartography＂ can inspire learning interests of students, increase the amount of information in class, and cultivate space imagination of students. The making of courseware comprise of four steps： establishment and analysis of curriculum objective and content, design of courseware scheme, selection of media information, evaluation and optimization. The application of multi - media technology should pay attention to timing, moderation, suitability.
