English language bases its development primarily on the growing of vocabulary. Ever since the end of World War Ⅱ, along with the shift of times, the advancement of science and technology, and the progress in ideology, there have emerged large quantities of new words and new meanings in the English vocabulary. The present article discusses the causes and ways of development and formation of the newest words, and predicts optimistically the tendencies of development for the English vocabulary.
