The conception of genetically modified foods (GMF) and its discrimination from the traditional food are introduced. The new classification of GMF was proposed. The study situation and the safety assessment system of GMF were summarized. The hazard of GMF was analyzed especially. The detecting methods and technology of GMF are decribed, and the development tendency is discussed as well. The history and present situation of GMF were detailed and future of GMF was also predicted.
