The Influence of Ideology and Patronage to Novels Translated by Lin Shu

林译小说作为中国最早的西洋文学经典,其由誉及毁的地位演变,蕴含着微妙的意识形态与出版机构的因素影响。商务印书馆、期刊杂志与新旧阵营对垒中策略的使用,对林译小说经典地位均产生一定的影响。

The novels translated by Lin-shu had been looked as the earliest canon about western literary in China, but they changed to be of＂none literary taste＂during the New Culture Movement. The change was influenced by patronage and ideology, which was always ignored in our studies. This paper mainly concerns the Commercial Press, journals and magazines, the use of strategies in the conflict between the old and new literary camp and their influence on the position of novels translated by Lin Shu in Chinese literature.
