This article reported the immune effectiveness of 2 kinds of inactivated HFRS vaccines in some townships with high incidence of HFRS in Shanxi. The 2 kinds of vaccines were separately drived from purificated brain of mouse and cultured tissue of Meriones unguiculatus kidney. The serum antibodies to the 2 kinds of vaccines were measured at two weeks after full injection. In the group of mouse's brain vaccine, the seroconversion rate Of neutralizing antibodies was 78. 57 % , and its geometric mean titre(GMT) was 9. 38. There was only 1 case who suffered from HFRS in the vaccination group, and the incidence rate was 8. 17/100, 000; but there were 24 patients in the control group, and the incidence rate was 167. 97/100, 000. Its protection rate was 95. 13 % , and the effective index of vaccination was 20. 56. In the group of Meriones unguiculatus kidney vaccine, the seroconversion rate of neutralizing antibodies was 73. 08 % , and its GMT was 13. 39. There was 1 patient in the vaccination group, and the incidence rate was 6. 02/ 100, 000; but there were 66 patients in the control group, and the incidence rate was 340. 73/100, 000. Its protection rate was 98. 23 % , and the effective index of vaccination was 56. 60. The side effects of the 2 kinds of vaccines were few. Those results suggested that the vaccines have a favourable safety, highly immunogenicity and preventive effectiveness.
