The technological bottleneck resulted from IPv4 network development and its cause were analysed. IPv6 of new network technology and its prospect use were introduced. Strategies of the transition from IPv4 to IPv6 were discussed and the planning scheme of campus network of IPv6 was put forward, pointing out the importance of IPv6 research and development.
