“中体西用”思想是洋务运动中兴起的一种旨在提倡西学独特的文化观念形态。这一文化模式随着时代的进步而有所变化,大致经历了由“西艺”到“西政”到“西教”三个演变阶段。

The idea of ＂Zhong Ti Xi Yong＂ is a kind of particular culture conception form which calls for west learning. It sprang up during the Yang Wu Movement. This sort of culture mode changed with the progress of the times. It came through three periods from ＂West Art＂ to ＂West Policy＂ then to ＂West Learning＂.
