本文回顾了住宅建筑中起居厅从无到有、从小到大的发展过程，阐述了起居厅的作用，分析了目前常见的三种起居厅设计方案，并提出了对起居厅设计的建议。

The development history of the living rooms is residenteal buildings is reviewed in this paper. The function of the living rooms is explained.Three of the most common layouts of the living rooms are analysed.And suggestions for the design of the living rooms are proposed.
