Improving H.264 Rate Control Algorithm for Low-Delay Communications

摘要 H.264/MPEG-4 AVC(H.264)是1995年自MPEG-2视频压缩标准发布以后的最新、最有前途的视频压缩标准。在对现有的码率控制算法研究的基础上,提出了一些改进策略,包括对初始量化参数的选取,对跳帧的处理和对场景切换的检测。该方法可使码率控制算法具有更高的效率,在低码率的情况下可以提供更好的图像质量,降低了传输延迟。 H. 264 has been up to date and most promising video coding standard since MPEG - 2was issued in 1995. Based on current rate control algorithm,this paper presents an improvement in the selection of initial quantization parameters, including frame skip and scene change detection. As a result, the new strategy is more efficient and can provide higher quality of image in low - delay communications, thus reducing the transmission delay.
