通过分析亲属称谓和社会称谓两大类称谓语在英汉两种语言中的差异，本文从物质文化、关系文化和精神文化三个层次，深入地探讨了英汉称谓语存在差异的深层文化因素。这一对比分析有助于英语学习者的英语学习和跨文化交际。

This paper analyses the difference of Chinese and English address forms from the perspective of kinship and social relations. It also makes a further discussion on the role of material, relational and spiritual culture in causing such difference. By such analysis and discussion, the purpose is to help Chinese learners＇ English study and improve their competence of cross-cultural communication and interaction.
