Objective To explore the effect of long-term administration of small-dosage Aspirin on the duration of indwelling the needle into veins. Methods 132 patients with indwelling venous needle were randomized into two groups: 68 in the observational group orally taking Aspirin at a dosage of 100 mg for more than 4 weeks and 64 as controls without taking Aspirin. The durations of indwelling needles between the groups were observed and compared. Results The durations for the observation group and the control group were (4.83±0.37)d, (3.89±0.26)d, respectively. The difference was significant statistically (P〈0.0001). Conclusion Long-term intake of small-dosage Aspirin may extend the duration of indwelling the needle by 4-5 days.
