试论英语动词虚拟语气的实质

On the Essence of the Subjunctive Mood of the English Verb

英语动词有无虚拟语气语法范畴的问题是英语界争论的焦点之一。本文以客观语料为基础，运用语言学，逻辑学等方面的若干原理论证英语虚拟语气动词形式实质上是动词现在时第二人称在各种祈使甸武交体中的使用，从而否定英语虚拟语气语法范畴的存在。

It is one of the points at issue in English circles whether there exists the grammatical category of a subjunctive mood of the English verb. Based on the objective langtuage materials, this paper, by applying the principles in linguistics and logic, expounds that the verb forms of the so-called subjunctive mood in English are, in essence, the present tense verb forms of the second person used in the variants of the imperative sentences, thus negating the existence of the grammatical category of the subjunctive mood in English.
