An Exploration of Dialogism in News Texts： From the Perspective of Modality

语篇对话性指语篇中存在两个以上相互作用的声音，它们形成同意和反对、肯定和补充、问和答等关系。虽然对话性因语篇类型的不同而有异，但它却是语篇的一个根本特性；语篇类型不同，对话性所赖以实现的语言资源势必有所不同。新闻语篇中，情态就是实现其对话性的一个极其重要的资源。

The dialogic property of the text refers to the fact that there exist in the text two or usually more than two interacting voices：they are related to one another through agreeing and contradicting, affirming and complementing,or questioning and answering.Although dialogism varies in degree according to the genre of the texts,it is one of the intrinsic properties of texts. Different types of texts draw on diverse linguistic resources to realize their dialogism. In news texts,modality constitutes a crucial resource for the realization of this inherent property of the text.
