Hyperrealism: the Last Humanistic Impulse in the 20th Century

在国内研究hyperrealism有一技术问题:必须让它与surrealism有不同的译名。研究该理论最好有一参照。本文将科学史上的“量子现实”作为这样的参照。作为一种“杂交”理论,先现实主义最值得称道的是它体现的人文主义精神。先现实主义悲悼当代人文精神的衰败:先贤先哲们曾诉诸“理性”和“科学”为人类争取过宝贵的自由和独立,但现代人已走上极端,正将那一成果丧失。

Theory of the hyperreal proceeds from what seems a fallacy： reality may be preceded by its representation, counter to the simple tradition that reality precedes its representation. The first of a series, this paper correlates the theory （i. e., hyperrealism） to humanism, after contrasting historical reaction to ＂quantum reality＂ and the hyperreal. The contrast is that, while physical scientists got passionately excited about the former, social scientists regard the latter as the death knell for humanism, which used to prosper when humanity was able to gain liberty and freedom by borrowing from science and reason. The death knell is sounded in modern times because science and reason have reached their extremes, and nullified as a result what humanity used to have gained and enjoyed.
