Based on introduction of historical situation and development of orifice flowmeter, this paper expatiated that since the introduction of computer technology, the measuring accuracy of orifice flowmeter and its ability on revising and compensating environment effects increased markedly. For instance, the measuring range expanded to 10：1. Designing demonstrations were also given in the paper.
