Different countries have various attitudes and disposal methods towards the problem that if certain amount of disinfectant residual should be kept in distribution water. In this article, different methods and reasons of USA, Netherlands and Germany are introduced in detail, and comparison with the situation of disinfectants using in China is also made. Learning from advanced experience and measures abroad, we put forward suggestions about future development of drinking water disinfection in the nation.
