摘要
采用二环己基碳二亚胺(DCC)和4-二甲基氨基吡啶(DMAP)为催化剂,使丁二酸单胆固醇酯和4-羟基4 硝基偶氮苯酚进行酯化反应,合成了一种新的胆固醇基双液晶基元化合物.使用红外光谱、核磁共振、热台偏光显微镜、差示扫描量热法等测试手段对产物的化学结构和液晶性能进行了表征.研究表明该液晶化合物在加热过程(197-24l℃)和冷却过程(234-104℃)中很宽的温度范围内呈现胆甾相液晶并且有鲜艳的颜色.
A new cholesterol-based azobeneze liquid crystalline compound was prepared by the reaction of monocholesteryl- succinate and 4-(4-nitrophenylzao) phenol through esterification in the presence of N, N-dicylcohexylcarbodi- imide and 4-dimethylaminopyridine, and its chemical structure and liquid crystalline properties were character- ized by FT-IR,1H-NMR, hot-stage coupled polarizing microscopy and DSC. The results show that this new compound is cholesteric liquid crystal over a wide range both in heating( 197 - 241℃ ) and cooling processes (234 - 104℃ ) and it exhibits iridescent color in the liquid crystalline state.
