小城镇风貌设计是广义的城市设计,是塑造城镇形象、体现城镇个性、打造城镇特色的重要手段。地域文化既是风貌设计重要的设计元素,又是风貌设计的灵魂。在风貌设计中再现与延续地域文化,紧紧抓住认知、提炼、表达三个环节,并且要在空间的营造、尺度的选择和公众的参与上予以重点体现。

Design on style and feature of small town, which belongs to comprehensive urban design, is important approach to mold town image, embody town personality, and form town feature. Regional culture is not only key element of design but also soul of design. In order to recover and inherit regional culture in design, it is very necessary to hold closely of three steps： cognizing it, ab- stracting it and expressing it, and to focus on forming space, choosing scale and public participation.
