中医药现代化是中医药在继承中医药传统理论、技术及应用经验基础上与现代科学技术、现代学术思想及现代文化相结合,以适应社会发展需求的过程。因此中医药现代化是时代发展的要求和其自身发展的需要。加强对传统中医药的继承,保持中医药特色是中医药现代化的基础;并且应加强中医思想文化的研究,从根本上实现传统文化的复兴,树立民族自信心,为发展中医药打下良好的基础。而应用现代科技和循证医学研究中医药则是实现中医药现代化的一个重要途径。

The modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine is a process in which traditional theories, technologies and experiences of Chinese Medicine are combined with modem technology, academic thoughts and cultures to adapt Chinese Medicine to the development of modem society. So the Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine is very necessary for the development of both the society and itself. The Modernization of Traditional Chinese medicine is based on reinforcing the inheritance of tradition and keeping the special characteristics of Traditional Chinese Medicine. We should also reinforce the research on the culture of Traditional Chinese Medicine to achieve the rejuvenation of traditional culture and gain great national confidence so that we can lay a good foundation for the development of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Therefore, using modem technology and evidence-based medicine is an important way to accomplish the modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
