The impact of strategic planning in UK universities is embodied in four aspects： playing an important role of information collection and policy direction in the macro management of higher education for government; making clear of development direction of university and chosing the field of development in priority; changing the way of power distribution in the university and emphasizing the instructional function of the chancelor; changing the cultural effect from instructional level; improving the management on the level of clarification and location in higher education.
