The Narrative of Communication in Kafka

“孤独”是卡夫卡小说的主题之一。在卡夫卡的笔下(以《变形记》、《乡村医生》、《在流刑营》和《饥饿艺术家》为解读文本),孤独源于无法展开的交流。在卡夫卡看来,语言作为交流的途径已经失效,共同的身体感受(饥饿、疼痛等)才是交流得以实现的基础,但是,由于人之身体本身的缺席或共同感受的缺乏,交流最终会失败,所以孤独不可避免。

＂Loneliness＂ is one of themes in Kafka＇ s novels. For him, loneliness （ as described in his Metamorphosis, A Country Doctor, In the Penal Colony and A Hunger Artist） originates from the failure of communication between people. The effective way of communication through language does not,work and only through the same feelings （ such as hunger and pains） on the human body can it be effective. However, the absence of the body or the lack of the same body feelings will cause the failure of communication, and so loneliness is inevitable.
