The combination of the characteristics of American immigrants and that during the establishment of its society resulted in its observing of rule of law. European immigrants with a dominant population of British brought the notion of law to North America and developed it. As American society gradually established, all the Americans pursue and observe the rule of law. This essay explores the reasons for this social custom from the angle of American history, hoping to discover the general rule in the forming of a legalized society.
