The application of preview PWM control in speed regulation system of rolling mill with single main motor drive is introduced. The scheme of hardware is presented at first. Then the principle and application of optimal preview PWM control are illustrated. This new technique settles the problem of PWM wave serious distortion, eliminates pulsation torque, improves control precision and prolongs the useful life of power switch device in the case of adopting lower carrier frequency. Practices testify the high efficiencies.
