Planar transformer provides distinct advantages over the traditional transformer. It plays an important role in the technological evolution towards increased power density of power supplies, reducing the volume of magnetic component is of great significance. So, planar magnetic technology has been the subject of intensive research in recent years. In this paper, compared with the traditional transformer, the advantages of the planar transformer are analysed and reviewed.
