With the development of transnational communications and inter-dependence, non-nation participants play an increasingly important role. Researches carried out by Joseph S. Nye, Jr., Robert O. Keohane show that interactive between nations and governments influences the world politics, which challenges the traditional nation-centered pattern and promotes international political research toward a pattern with multi-center. Therefore their research on transnational relations is a significant milestone.
